Epsilon Chapter Strategic Action Plan
Delta Kappa Gamma Society International
2013-2015 Biennium
Purposes:
1. To unite women educators of the world in a genuine spiritual fellowship
2. To honor women who have given or who evidence a potential for distinctive service in any field of education
3. To advance the professional interest and position of women in education
4. To initiate, endorse and support desirable legislation or other suitable endeavors in the interests of education and of women educators
5. To endow scholarships to aid outstanding women educators in pursuing graduate study and to grant fellowships to non-member women educators
6. To stimulate the personal and professional growth of members and to encourage their participation in appropriate programs of action
7. To inform the members of current economic, social, political and educational issues so that they may participate effectively in a world society

excellence in education.

Areas of Focus:
1. Membership
a. Objective 1.1: Retain Current Members
i. Activity 1.1.1: Have fun activities for members that will encourage member participation
ii. Activity: Have current members mentor/sponsor a new member
iii. Activity: More informal interactions with members
iv. Activity: Reach out to members that have attended in the past or members that have not been
b. Objective 1.2: Recruit New Members
i. Activity 1.2.1: Host orientation for potential new members
ii. Activity 1.2.2: Invite potential members to chapter activities and/or meetings
2. Finance
a. Objective 2.1: Raise money for 2015 State Convention and Scholarships
i. Activity 2.1.1: Hold various fundraisers for chapter activities, scholarships, and grants
3. Communication and Technology
a. Objective 3.1: Increase technology use through chapter communication
i. Activity 3.1.1: Update DKG private Facebook group for members as needed
ii. Activity 3.1.2: Create a chapter webpage
4. Programs
a. Objective 4.1: Provide programs which benefit all age groups in our chapter
i. Activity 4.1.1: Survey members to see what types of programs are needed for membership at 1st
ii. Activity 4.1.2: Tax information for educators
iii. Activity 4.1.3: Information about businesses with scholarships and fundraising for education
iv. Activity 4.1.4: Trivia Contest/Quiz Bowl for younger students
5. Marketing and PR
a. Objective 5.1: To increase visibility of DKG in the local area.
i. Activity 5.1.1: Publicize chapter projects on local newspaper, TV, and radio
ii. Activity 5.1.2: Publicize state convention on local newspaper, TV, and radio
iii. Activity 5.1.3: Create chapter polo shirts with logo for educators to wear on meeting days
